Projetct Abstract

Assembly of predictors of gene regulatory regions Gene expression is controlled by promoters, enhancers and other elements. Hitherto, several predictors based on artificial intelligence have been developed; therefore assembling them in a unified tool, revising the type of their outputs and processing them in a compiled report may be useful to support several relevant biological questions in respect to what transcription factors are controlling networked genes. A unified tool might facilitate the training of new users in this research interest, an additionally pursuit goal of this work.The project is going to be developed by a collaboration between UFRN, UFMG, UFPB and Universidad Mayor.

Projetct Abstract

Investigate oxidative stress in sugarcane plants using various tools of bioinformatics to determine the metabolic pathways, interactions between proteins and searches of genes / proteins that may be important to this type of stress and common to other stresses. It also investigates the possible interactions between proteins expressed its mapping interactomas, and identification of potential proteins that can be utlizadas as markers that biological stress process. Thus, it aims to better understand the physiology of the plant in response to stress conditions, as well as provide subsidies for professional classical genetic improvement select and cultivate those that tolerate this condition, as well as day provide subsidies to assist farmers in managing this culture and therefore provide the increase in production standard.

SB-Meeting 2016

SB-Meeting 2016 – From algorithms to disease: Translational research in bioinformatics and systems biology.

 

sblogoSB-Meeting is on its third edition, which promotes the dissemination of cutting-edge research in systems biology and bioinformatics, as well as interaction between the scientific communities of Brazil and Germany involved in research in the area. The event will feature the participation of Brazilian and German researchers with recognized reputation in the field of bioinformatics and biology systems.

The theme will involve discussions about the perspectives and the advances provided by bioinformatics and systems biology research on clinical practice. There will also be the possibility of registration papers to be presented in the form of posters.

SB-Meeting 2016 will take place in Natal – Brazil, at the Digital Metropolis Institute (IMD-UFRN) dependencies, from August 31th to September 2th. Bioinformatics Graduate Program of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte will organize the event.
